St.Galler Coaching Model (SCM) ®

The scientifically validated St.Gallen Coaching Model® is a highly effective systemic coaching method that specifically promotes the development of personality traits on the basis of individual values. It is characterized by three central qualities: Value-oriented, systemic and context-independent.

With the St.Galler Coaching Model®, coach graduates receive a highly effective and sustainable coaching method with numerous individually applicable interventions. The training concept of the Swiss Coach Academy makes it possible to put the coaching know-how learned into practice to a high degree.

In this way, graduates can apply what they have learned immediately after completing their training.

The conscious focus on these values creates a high degree of effectiveness and sustainability in the development process desired by the client, regardless of context.

All trainings and the methods learned are:

  • Value-oriented

  • Systemic

  • Context-independent

  • Sustainably effective

  • Practical

Value-oriented

Decisions and actions are guided by values deeply rooted in the personality. Goals only serve to increase the values or to avoid value violations. What is valuable and important for a person acts like a compass that provides direction and serves as a benchmark for evaluation in decision-making situations.

The clearer and more conscious these values are, the more effectively sustainable development can be carried out in change processes. In contrast to a purely goal-oriented approach, the value-oriented St.Galler coaching model® takes these relationships into account.

Value-based coaching means:

  • identify and multiply the value that drives the desired development at its core,

  • to define and make an active contribution to the fulfillment of value (the goal),

  • to perceive and dissolve inner resistances and blockages (the problem),

so that the desired value development is created "out of itself".

Systemic

The St.Galler Coaching Model® is characterized by a holistic approach in which all relevant aspects of a coaching topic are taken into account. Such an approach makes it possible to include in the development all the dynamics relevant to the topic regarding the value, goal and problem. Capturing elements that usually unconsciously work against the change (e.g. the disadvantages of the goal and the advantages of the problem) is of crucial importance for profound, sustainable development.

Our graduates learn:

  • to get a holistic view of the client's system,

  • To develop a sense of what is really at the heart of the change.

You will practice in a practice-relevant way:

  • to depict complex structures and to make the client aware of them,

  • to initiate coherent changes for the client system and to accompany developments.

Context-independent

The strengths of the model lie, among other things, in its independence of context, i.e. it can be used to accompany change processes on professional, private or personal issues.
